Information about our island.

The name Lefkada origins from the southern part of the island, todays Lefkata.

In the entrance of the island is situated the Venetian castle of Agia Mavra. It is mostly a mountainous island which combines the amazing green of the trees with the turquoise waters of Ionian Sea, painting the waters with a unique emerald color. Most famous beaches are Porto Katsiki, Kathisma, and Egremni. We should definitely mention the beaches of Mylo, Pefkoulia and Vasiliki.

Nidri is the tourist center of Lefkada. It is located on the south-east side of the island, in a green surrounding. It has a modern marine and a variety of shops, restaurants, café and bars. Every morning from its port depart daily cruises for Scorpio, Kefalonia, Ithaki and Meganisi. Just 2 km away, there are the waterfalls in the gorge of Dimosari. There you can enjoy a landscape of rich natural beauty.

From Athens towards RIO ANTIRIO through IONIA ROAD to AMFILOXIA. After one hour when you cross the bridge you reach LEFKADA. From North Greece you can arrive through EGNATIA STREET toward IOANNINA, PREVEZA, AKTIO.
By Bus KTEL from ATHENS, THESSALONIKI, PATRA, PREVEZA, IGOUMENITSA, AGRINIO.
